The Ouray County Baseball league is able to host teams for the ages of 4-16, and the Ridgway Secondary School just launched their first JV team in 20 years in 2026, with hopes to have a Varsity team soon as well! 

Teams are set up as follows:

• Tee-Ball (Ages 4-5): Kids are hitting off of stationary tees
• Coach Pitch (Ages 6-7): The team coach softly underhand tosses the ball to the kid batting.
• Machine Pitch (Ages 8-9): Kids are hitting off a machine that is throwing pitches over the plate.
• Kid Pitch 11U (Ages 10-11): Kids start learning how to pitch to the other team themselves and then work on refining those skills in preparation for high school JV/Varsity.
• Kid Pitch 13U (Ages 12-13): Kids continue to refine pitching skills, batting skills, & fielding skills in preparation for high school JV/Varsity.
• OCB HS Kid Pitch (Ages 14+): Kids continue to refine pitching skills, batting skills, & fielding skills to complement playing high school JV/Varsity during the school year.

The goal of Ouray County Baseball is to allow all children to practice IN THE COUNTY instead of parents always driving to Montrose. We also hold some games locally when possible (though field space is an issue).

The GREAT news is that in December 2024, the Town of Ridgway approved a new Athletic Park Master Plan that includes space for BOTH a regulation sized baseball field AND a second smaller field with 60′ base paths suitable for both softball games and the younger baseball teams. Now we need to work as a community to fundraise and work on grants to get those fields built!

2026 Summer League

T-ball League (ages 4-5): $65 early bird / $80 regular season

Each team will practice and/ or play twice a week on Mon-Thurs. No weekend games.

Scrimmages will be held at the fields in Ridgway and/or Ouray only. NO Montrose commitment!

T-ball is all about learning throwing, catching, and hitting in a fun, laid back environment.
Practice begins June 8th in Ridgway and/or Ouray. 4 week season.

Coach Pitch (age 6-7): $75 early bird / $90 regular season

Each team will practice and/or play twice a week on Mon-Thurs. No weekend games.

6 games throughout the season @ 5:30, 6:30, or 7:30pm in Montrose.

Kids will learn teamwork, eye-hand coordination & good sportsmanship!

Practice begins June 1st in Ridgway and/or Ouray. All games in Montrose @ rec fields.

Machine Pitch (age 8-9): $85 early bird / $100 regular season

Each team will practice and/or play twice a week on Mon-Thurs. No weekend games.

6 games throughout the season @ 5:30, 6:30, or 7:30pm in Montrose.

Kids will learn teamwork, eye-hand coordination & good sportsmanship!

Practice begins June 1st in Ridgway and/or Ouray. All games in Montrose @ rec fields.

Kid Pitch 11U (age 10-11): $100 early bird / $120 regular season

Each team will practice and/or play 2-3x per week. Practice in Ridgway, games in surrounding communities within a 1-3 hour drive. Weekend games likely.

Kids will focus on improving their pitching & team playing skills, as well as good sportsmanship.

Practice begins May 18th in Ridgway. Games late May - mid July.

2026 marks the first year we will have a SOFTBALL 11U team as well for ages 9-11 so make sure you choose the softball option if your player is a girl!

Kid Pitch 13U (age 12-13): $130 early bird / $150 regular season

Each team will practice and/or play 2-3x per week. Practice in Ridgway, games in surrounding communities within a 1-3 hour drive. Weekend games likely.

Kids will focus on improving their pitching & team playing skills, as well as good sportsmanship.

Practice begins May 18th in Ridgway. Games late May - mid July.

OCB HS Team (age 14+): $160 early bird / $190 regular season

Each team will practice and/or play 3x per week. Practice in Ridgway, games in surrounding communities within a 1-3 hour drive. Weekend games likely.

Kids continue to refine pitching skills, batting skills, & fielding skills to complement playing high school JV/Varsity during the school year.

Practice begins May 18th in Ridgway. Games late May - mid July.
