These pictures are from 30% completion (final construction docs were completed in December 2026), but it's incredible to see a rendering of what these fields will look like in our community once they're built!

goal 3.2 m —to construct two baseball fields
Over the past eight years, a dedicated group of volunteers in Ouray County has created Ouray County Baseball (OCB) from the ground up, bringing a full Little League baseball program into existence.
In part because of our successful and dedicated program-building over the years, OCB is outgrowing its facilities. The bottom line is current field space cannot support the level of participation we have generated, and in order for OCB to continue to serve youth baseball players in the future, we need to build a regulation size field (or two!). In 2023, OCB worked with the Town of Ridgway to secure dedicated space in the Ridgway Athletic Park for two ballfields, one of which will meet State of Colorado CHSAA regulation requirements for high school games for youth aged 14-18, the other which will work for little league and for softball (60' base paths).
To make this vision a reality, we are embarking on a capital fundraising campaign with a goal of $3.2 million dollars with the plan of starting construction in the spring of 2027 if funds allow. Our hope is that this funding will cover the construction costs for both of the new fields, including grading, turf installation, fencing, dugouts, and necessary amenities to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all players.
We are currently seeking lead cornerstone donors to set the foundation, both literally and figuratively for our capital campaign. Our goal is to get commitments from key supporters at above 40% of our goal to accelerate further donations. Your contribution, no matter the size, will directly impact the lives of our community members. Your generosity will help create a lasting legacy for generations to come and help keep kids on the baseball diamond, playing the game they love in their own back yard.
