The Ouray County Baseball league is able to host teams for the ages of 4-14 with plans to expand to the older ages soon! Teams are set up as follows:
Tee-Ball: Ages 4-5 (the kids are hitting off of stationary tees)
Coach Pitch: Ages 6-7 (the team coach softly underhand tosses the ball to the kid batting)
Machine Pitch: Ages 8-9 (the kids are hitting off a machine that is throwing pitches over the plate)
Kid Pitch U12 and U15 Baseball: Ages 10-15 (the kids start learning how to pitch to the other team themselves and then work on refining those skills in preparation for high school)
The goal of Ouray County Baseball is to allow all children to practice IN THE COUNTY instead of parents always driving to Montrose. There is currently a small field in Ouray that works for the younger teams (bases are only at 60′) and a field in Ridgway that shares outfield space with a soccer field (so no permanent outfield fencing).
